PANGUNI UTHIRAM

Tuesday, March 31, 2026
6:30 PM – Karthikeya Abhishekam

Panguni Uthiram is a significant festival in Tamil culture, primarily celebrated in honor of Lord Karthikeya. It falls in the Tamil month of Panguni (March-April) on the full moon day, marking the celestial wedding of Lord Karthikeya to Deivayanai. The festival is celebrated with much fervor in Tamil Nadu and by Tamil communities worldwide. The significance of Panguni Uthiram lies in its spiritual connection, as it symbolizes divine unions and blessings. Temples dedicated to Lord Karthikeya, such as the famous Arupadai Veedu temples, host grand celebrations and processions. Devotees believe that participating in the festivities brings them blessings of love, prosperity, and spiritual growth. Devotional music, dance, and rituals are an integral part of the celebration, with people offering prayers and taking part in kavadis (a form of penance). Panguni Uthiram also serves as a reminder of the power of devotion and surrender to the divine will. The festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, with Lord Karthikeya representing courage and righteousness. It fosters a sense of community and devotion, as people from all walks of life come together to celebrate their faith in Lord Karthikeya’s.

Let’s all pray on this auspicious Panguni Uthiram for Lord Karthikeya’s blessings of love, strength, and spiritual growth.
